Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Recognition Award

Each year, the Tri-agency Institutional Programs Secretariat recognizes an institution with exemplary recruitment, nomination and/or appointment practices that promote equity and diversity. Institutions are invited to apply for the Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Recognition Award at the same time as setting their equity and diversity targets for representation of the four designated groups among chairholders.

The Advisory Committee on Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Policy reviews the applications and provides the program with a recommendation as to which institution to recognize. Selection criteria include:

• whether the institution has met or is making progress in meeting its equity and diversity targets;
• the quality and relevance of the institution’s strategies  to achieve or improve its equity and diversity targets; and
• evidence of the effectiveness and impact of these strategies.
