Research summary

There is increasing recognition that human activity is warming the planet. Dr. Annie Levasseur, Canada Research Chair in Measuring the Impact of Human Activity on Climate Change, is trying to design advanced measurement tools to better quantify the effects of human activity on climate change.

One focus of this research will see Levasseur and her team compile high spatial and temporal resolution inventories of greenhouse gas emissions on an urban scale. Another will see them design innovative methods to evaluate climate change mitigation strategies on a national scale. Ultimately, their work will support stakeholders at various levels of government in developing optimal climate change mitigation strategies and measuring their effectiveness.
